When a timid Acorn meets a brash Button in the forest, it creates quite a commotion! Noting their physical differences, Acorn asks an innocent question which Button misconstrues as an insult. Button pursues Acorn until Button trips and gets stuck to the ground. Acorn must make a choice to either run for safety, or try to help this hot headed stranger. When Acorn helps Button, it results in an unlikely friendship where their differences actually bring out the best in each other. Together, they meet other forest characters, deal with bullies and even face a ferocious beast. Though Acorn is shy and Button pretentious, their more endearing qualities shine through this chapter book as their adventures unfold - qualities such as courage, loyalty, kindness and humility.
