Welcome! My husband and I moved to the mountains of North Carolina a year ago and we love it here! The people are friendly, the pace is slower and the clouds nestle into the mountains in a way I haven’t seen before. There's a creek 20 feet from my back porch. Listening to the sound of rushing water cultivates lots of story ideas! |

I've written, illustrated and published my own book - Acorn and Button. This is the first book in a series. What inspired me to write this book? I love the simplicity of children and the fact that they're able to live in the moment fully with all their hearts. One of the main characters, Acorn, is actually modeled after my son when he was very little. Acorn is shy and never seeks the spotlight. Even so, he comes out as a hero in subtle ways. Sometimes it's the little things that make a big difference. I aim to write with heart and humor. I hope that comes across with Acorn and Button.
